Dr. and Mrs. Burris would like to invite all CS majors, members of
SHACS, CS faculty and staff to a party at their house Saturday April 28
at 5:00. This will be a good opportunity to say goodbye to those
graduating as well as make new friends.

Volleyball, croquet, table tennis and lawn darts will be available.
Tables for dominoes, cards, and any other games you might wish to bring
will also be supplied. The tables will be set up on the lawn and
patio. Former students are welcome.

We have not decided what we will serve yet. You are welcome to
contribute a favorite chip, dip, dessert, or other food item. Please do
not feel obligated to bring anything other than your self and your good
humor. Bring your spouse or other interest (but please, not both at the
same time). We have about 20 chairs. If convenient, you may wish to
bring a lawn chair.

Be warned, the volleyball court is professional grade, none of that
silly sand stuff you saw on the Olympics. If you dig for a shot, you
will sport the resulting cuts, scrapes, and bruises for an extended
period of time. This course was designed for true Olympians. Put
another way, if you play paint ball, well you know what to expect!

I will have a can of Deep Woods Off available for as long as it lasts.
Frankly, I do not have a mosquito problem. Learn to bite back!
Conversation is optional but suggested. It was noted at the last party
there is a desperate need for individuals who really know how to play
forty two and moon. There was also evidence of a lack of talented spade
and hearts players! Dr. Hartness was not able to make the last party.
He hopes to make it this time but be warned, he is not impressed with
trash talk! Put up or shut up. Even Dr. McGuire commented, "must
faculty be the only group to match talk with deed? "

If you get lost on the way, my home phone is 295-8062.

Directions follow: Take FM1374 West from Interstate 45 (headed out of
town). You will pass the Dairy Queen on the campus side of the
interstate (driver side) (Ford company one block on passenger side -
campus side of interstate) then a Diamond Shamrock gas station on the
west (driver) side of the interstate coming from campus. The Region VI
Service Education Center will be on your right about ¼ mile on FM1374
(large new addition just completed). About a mile from the interstate
you will pass the entrance to Spring Lake Estates on your left, followed
by a single house, then a white wood church (all on the left). The
first street to the left after the church is Pine Shadows subdivision.
After you enter the subdivision, the street makes an immediate turn to
the right (an ell). The first street to the left after the ell is Pine
Grove Drive. The party will be at the last house on the left at the
bottom of the hill, 3357 Pine Grove Drive.
