The understanding of different design models and work methods that I
learned in software engineering LEAD DIRECTLY to me getting a much better
job than I ever thought I would get right out of school. In the
interviews they asked me questions seemingly right out of Dr. Burris'
notes. I did, however, get afferent and efferent data confused and
struggled through my explanation of Jackson's technique. So, imagine how
much you'll blow employers' minds if you know this stuff cold. There is
some bittersweet irony, though, as the main dev language we use is for
people who like their coffee too much, as they say.
