[Shacs] managing DNS

Can anyone refer me to a software package that helps manage DNS in linux?

I just spent 45 min hovering over our network admin watching him painfully
cd and vi his way through individual zone and mail transport/relay files
peppered across three servers (DNS, mail relay, and internal mail server)
just to set up a single email alias for a new domain on the network.  There
was a bit of trial and error involved, and now that I've started some
documentation on what we learned and recalled, it will cut the process down
to a handful of minutes in the future.

Is there not some simple DNS control panel for managing a linux DNS and
email aliases and such for internal networks similar to what is available on
shared hosts like HSphere's Control Panel?
