I know for a fact that I was horrible with SQL when I graduated  
college. I wish there were more projects that involved databases. SQL  
server 2k5 is available for download to play with the non enterprise  
version and highly recomend that anyone wanting to get a good job  
download it and play with it. Databases are essential to being a real  
programmer and are very useful. Also recomend that varchars only be  
used for text and to use datetime for dates and numeric fields for  
numbers. Remember it is better to have extra fields you allow to be  
null than to do string parsing for your numbers.
