I'm not Dr Burris (even though I play him on TV), but here's my
presently devaluted $0.02:

 * The Structure and Interpretation of Computer Programs
 * The Zen of Programming
 * Code Complete
 * Working Effectively with Legacy Code
 * The Design and Implementation of the 4.4 BSD Operating System (and
   The Design and Implementation of the FreeBSD Operating System)
 * Things Computer Scientists Rarely Think About (Knuth talks
   calligraphy and religion)

"... an experienced, industrious, ambitious, and often quite often
picturesque liar."
