So a couple of months ago I was working on this huge proposal out of
Kennedy Space Center that encompassed not only IT security but a whole lot
of systems integration work. I was tasked in a "CISO" role (Chief
Information Security Officer) and was therefore paired with a guy for the
CIO role (whom I would report to later). So this guy, his name is Mike, is
in his late 40's whilst I'm in my mid-30's (I graduated from SHSU in 2000)
and both of us are fairly "senior" in our roles. While Mike and I are
talking it turns out that he also had an undergrad in CS and, shock of all
shocks, it was from SHSU as well. Inevitably the question of "so, when did
you graduate?" came up and it was Mike who asked *me* first...so I'm
thinking, "great...this is where the whole 'you're a young guy' thing
comes in."
So, I tell him 2000 and he smiles and says, "yeah...I graduated a little
before you...in 1980"*. Then, he asks about some of the professors I may
have had and I take a shot in the dark (knowing a little about who has
been around the department and how long) and say, "well, you probably
wouldn't know any of them...maybe Dr. Burris I guess".
Um, yeah...Mike graduated in 1980* and not only did he have Dr. Burris as
a professor BUT HE ACTUALLY REMEMBERED HIM AND HIS HORRIBLE JOKES.
sheesh...
*Mike may have said 1985...I don't remember very clearly because once he
said he had Dr. Burris as a professor my head kinda rebooted...

other signatures but will cost you more and doesn't really work in the
enterprise.
