I guess we can assume Dr. Cooper already has his preordered. At least it
does have the video out for his presentations. It even has a headphone jack
so he can watch dvd's on his trips to England....wait...no optical drive.
Bummer. I guess you could tag along the external they make for it but that
would kinda defeat the point of it being world's most portable notebook.

Hey Eric,

Where are you getting the info regarding not being able to upgrade the
hard drive?  I haven't done any extensive investigation but nothing I've
seen so far has mentioned that the device is permanently sealed. I can
understand if this is like the Apple TV, Mac Mini, and MacBook Pro in that
it doesn't have "user serviceable" parts but I'm surprised to learn that
the device is sealed permanently.

Also, even if it is like the Apple TV, etc. and isn't "user serviceable"
that doesn't mean that the right users (or companies) can't upgrade it.
I've upgraded my Apple TV, Mac Mini systems, and both my MacBook Pro and
my wife's.....and since there aren't any "do not service" stickers on any
of the devices it isn't readily apparent that they have been modified.

As for the question of usability I'd have to say it depends upon what one
defines as a "user".  Clearly the run-of-the-mill person that does
Internet surfing, email, and documentation would probably be just fine
using that system (especially if they only went places that offered
wireless).
