Actually, Mr. Hill,

It is my belief that Lisp is distanced due to the following:

The fact that "there's an Emacs command for that..." relegates Lisp (and
subdialects, of course) to mere "scripting languages".  Sorry, Lisp
can't do anything useful....it is only for making an editor do "fancy"
things...;)

p.s: I saw a guy in Lowe's Hardware Emporium who was wearing an XKCD
"college tee".  I very loudly pointed at him, saying "GOOD SHIRT, MAN!".
He enjoyed it, with the classic "geek smirk".  I was in Lowe's shopping
for dirt...
