I have had issues with AVG updating properly and it always seems to need a restart, especially the antispyware product. I have since switched to the free version of Avast and love it.

You can even test out most of their products for 60 days before you have to purchase. They also provide volume license pricing for as little as two licenses for their products so you can get a discount if you want to protect all your PC's.

Well, I've been enjoying AVG without much noise for some time now-- thanks for the tip on the free virus scanner. Now I'm getting this notice on all PCs in the house:

I dig the core product, but I fear the same thing as with all the others I've tried: bogged down cpu. Has anyone taken the plunge?

Happy Easter anyone who's still on campus..

I too give all family members AVG AntiVirus and the Free Spyware
scanner. They are very good product that is along the lines of a McAfee
or Norton scan speed. I have had no issues with even grandmothers and
    AVG working properly.
