Answering questions regarding health of music therapists (note the absence
of capitals).

1.  My general health is very good, and my emotional health is better than
it has ever been in my entire life.  I know that the latter is most likely a
direct result of my involvement with clients over a long period of time.
They are the teachers.  If we listen and respond appropriately, great things
can happen.

2.  If a music therapist (just a person like everyone else) knows how to
involve clients in musical activities aimed at their needs, if he/she has a
realistic attitudes regarding the outcomes of therapy (we are not magicians
or "guru" healers), and if he/she continually assesses the changing
attitudes of both therapist and client, that person will receive a healthy,
uplifting experience from the encounter.  We can never be toally involved
with another person in a positive way without receiving benefit ourselves.
It is not a selfish thing - it just happens.

These answers are based upon thirty years experience as a clinician.
