I work psychodynamically in my MT practice.  I also work closely with
therapists and other mental health professionals.  I would not be able to
(credibly) do what I do without my MMT.  In addition, I couldn't be
expected to.  I also would not go to a therapist (verbal or otherwise) for
primary therapy who didn't have advanced levels of training.  In sum, if
you want to work psychodynamically and not recreation/activity based, do so
with a masters or at least some other training in addition to the BA.

Teaching, of course.  I second others discussion about being educated at
additional levels than the ones they are teaching.  I was very particular
about where I chose to do my MMT based, in part, on the advanced degrees my
professors had.  Call that callous and not a very good judge of the content
of the program, if you must, but I feel that if I am committed to a career,
I want to be taught by people who are even more committed than I am.  For
me, the intellectual challenge is most stimulating, and I think there are
probably one or two others out there who feel as I do.

Teaching and private practice (working psychodynamically - on the deepest
of levels).  Listen, private practice can be done at any level.  Just
different types of practice.  This is true for all levels of therapeutic
professionals, not just MT.

The state of NY would not allow my child to be taught in a public school
if the teacher did not get his/her masters within 5 years.  How much more
so for a profession that effects people in such a deep way.  (I understand
that all states have slightly different requirements regarding education of
teachers).  We could go on and on about masters degree programs not being
available for some people...I have as of yet nothing new to add to that
train of the argument.
