Response to Patty Fiden- Thanks for responding to this subject.
Of course musical skills are a difficult thing to evaluate in terms of the
CBMT- but something desperately needs to be done. I have music therapy jobs
to offer but I refuse to hire MT-BCs who simply don't have the musical
"goods." I need music therapists- but as I said, we and our clients go
without because most of the interviewees coming through our door cannot make
it through an interview/audition. Any suggestions?

For anyone else out there reading the postings regarding this subject, I hope
to hear some solutions- even if they may be far fetched or extremely
difficult to apply. I plan to present them to folks in decision making
positions to urge them on to seriously explore the issue. Please think of it
as brainstorming- lets see if we can find something usable.

Thanks again to all.

Respectfully,
Jim Hiller MMT,MT-BC
