Paperwork vs. Programming

[MT-PRO Music Therapy List]

Dear Ms. Newland: 
   I work at two different facilities owned by the county.  One is a nursing 
home where there are 1:1's and large groups.  The time for 1:1's are 
aproximately 20-30 miinutes of "hands on MT" and approximatley 5 minutes of 
documentation versus a 45-50 minute large group where individual notes are 
written following each session.  This process can take up to 45 minutes in 
itself.  
The swingbed program sessions are approximately 20-30 minutes with a CTRS 
immediately following.  There I only have weekly progress notes which can 
take up to 2 hours depending the number of patients.
The gero-psych unit requires daily notes following a 45 minute session that 
requires only about 30 minutes, again depending the number of patients.
