Meeting minutes NTSO general meeting on September 11, 2007
FIRST ORDER OF BUSINESS
a. Due to Karmyn Crabb no longer attending school she is no longer
qualified to be an officer of NTSO, Charity Moore was voted in as
Secretary by 100% vote of all members present at the meeting.
b. All members present voted 100% of the present quorum to change the
organization constitution to state that, for a member to claim NTSO on
their co-curricular transcript they must attend at least one general
meeting per long semester. It has been duly noted that for some members it
is not possible in a semester to do so, there will be previsions made to
those whom at least attend a social event or officers meeting.
Participation is the key. Other changes to the constitution reflect that
we now have a tax id number and will need to acquire a bank account that
is to be kept up by the Business Manager as part of their duties. Under
Finances it is added in the previsions about the Financial matters
concerning the Tax Id number which will be passed from the current Advisor
to incoming Advisor as part of their duties, as well as provisions made
that the fiscal year begins in August , closes in December reopens in
January with the same balance and closes for the year in May. The Advisor
will give the Id number to officers on an as needed basis. Last but not
least the final amendment of the constitution is that regarding the
Presidents duties to obtain funding for the organization through various
departments or financial channels. (the old constitution reflected the UFO
fund which is no longer available).
SECOND ORDER OF BUSINESS
a. We discussed participating in Bearkat Ally and how it would be a great
thing for kids to participate in.
b. We talked about upcoming speakers at the General meetings, ideas and
those already scheduled to attend.
THIRD ORDER OF BUSINESS
a. We discussed putting together a Haunted Tours activity for around
Halloween time. The types of things that might go into it. We talked about
getting sponsors to donate some items to be used for this time and how to
go about getting funding.
b. We talked about funding for other things that might be going on in the
future, about having a bake sale, and other things that might help raise
c. We talked about how to get our 100+ members to participate and take a
more active role in NTSO, to make it a more active organization.
Participation for our organization has been low and it is important that
all members participate in social activities and meetings. We are after
all a SOCIAL ORGANIZATION so lets be socialable guys!!!
