                 9/29 Scholarship Opportunity      The Committee on
National Competitive Scholarships would like to invite
all students and faculty to an informational meeting
about the Rhodes, Truman, Marshall, Jack Kent Cooke and
similar prestigious scholarships in the Smith-Hutson
Mafrige Auditorium on September 29 at 3:00 p.m.
Because these scholarships provide full funding for two or more years of
graduate study, their application processes are highly competitive with
deadlines as early as September of a student's senior year, it is
important that students begin preparations early.   The committee
encourages students of all classifications to attend this meeting to learn
more about these scholarships and what they can do to prepare
applications.   If there are any questions concerning this meeting, please
