As part of an independent research project with Dr. Desforges, I did
research on individuals with disabilities in clinical treatment. What I
found was that research indicates that this is the one minority group that
psychology does not really pay attention to, even though it is one of the
largest (54 million Americans is the current estimate). Based on this
research, I put together some information on working with people with
disabilities. Part of this was presented at TPA this past November and the
few that attended the session said they enjoyed it. So I decided to make
this information available to SHSU as well.

On Tuesday February 7 at 3:30 pm in AB4 Room 307, I will be talking about
disabilities in general, the ADA, disability culture, and considerations
in treating and assessing those with disabilities. This will serve not
only as an information session where you can learn about disability
culture and how it can affect therapy & assessment. I look forward to
seeing you there!

Any questions, feel free to email me!!
