Hello all,

I trust that your semesters are off to a great start.  I wanted to let
you know a few things:

 

1)     The deadline for submission of proposals for student poster
presentations at the TASP conference has been extended to 9-15.  I would
prefer to receive these proposals electronically.  Students should
submit an abstract, less than 500 words, that describes the project.
Those that have been accepted will be notified by 9-17.  The accepted
posters will be presented on Thursday evening during the awards
reception.  This is a change from years past.

2)     The trainers meeting will be on Thursday during the conference
11-4.  The time was changed to 11 to allow for travel to Austin on
Thursday morning for those who did not want to spend Wednesday night.
Please bring your lunch.  We will have coffee and tea provided.  Topics
for this meeting include:

Status of applications for specialist degrees

Internship recruitment/acceptance concerns

APA and the Model Licensure Act

Anything else that people raise!

            My plan is to title the meeting in such a way that it
reflects the ethical and professional issues that are discussed and can
be utilized for license renewal in that category.

 

3)     There will be a fundraiser for the TASP charitable contribution
to Hugworks.  This will be a "basket raffle".  We are looking for each
program to create a basket of items that represent the University.  If
you get these items donated, it is tax deductible for the contributors.
Items might include mugs, t-shirts, bumper stickers, pencils, etc.  We
have a corporation that is willing to match whatever donation that TASP
makes, so we are trying to capitalize on that.

by the wrong person in your program, please let me know.  Also, please
forward this to any faculty at your program that might be interested in
the meeting.

 

Please let me know who is planning to attend the meeting so we can make
sure to have enough space and materials.
