The Clinical Psychology Doctoral Program extends an invitation to all interested faculty and students to attend our annual Spring Colloquium (Friday, 04//01/2016), featuring our invited guest presenter, Dr. Faye S. Taxman<https://www.gmuace.org/documents/cv/faye-taxman.pdf>. Dr. Taxman is a Professor in the Criminology, Law and Society Department and Director of the Center for Advancing Correctional Excellence at George Mason University. She is recognized for her work in the development of the seamless systems of care models that link the criminal justice with other service delivery systems, as well as re-engineering probation and parole supervision services, and organizational change models. Her work covers the breadth of the correctional system from jails and prisons to community corrections and adult and juvenile offenders.

Dr. Taxman and her colleagues developed the Risk-Need-Responsivity (RNR) Simulation Tool to aid federal, state, and local criminal justice agencies in determining whether the services provided are responsive to the risk and need factors of offenders in their correctional systems. Consequently, Dr. Taxman will be discussing the challenges associated with providing adequate services to individuals in the justice system.

For more information, please see the attached flyer.
