Hi everyone! See below for info about the Walk to the Polls event.

Lee Miller’s leadership cohort, the Center for Community Engagement, and
Student Activities have put together a “Walk to the Polls – Blockparty.”
https://www.facebook.com/events/709916026033656/

The event is scheduled on University Ave (in front of Belvin Hall), *Oct
30th* from 3-7pm, and designed to be a celebration. There will be food, a
DJ (music), and camaraderie. All students are welcome. Students that
happen to be registered in Walker County can also participate in a walk to
the polls (just a block away!). Lee’s group worked with the proper city
officials to find a day for the event and plan it out so as not to
overwhelm the volunteers at the city annex.

*There is a smaller event tomorrow (10/24) in the CHSS building entrance
from 10 to Noon - should this be a better fit with your schedule. This
event will have cookies, but no pizza or DJ. Drop on by and say hi, go
vote, help a group of students walk to the polls… celebrate civic
engagement!*

If possible, please *mention this in your classes*, post the attached *flyer
on your doors* and *in your buildings*, and *join in the fun*! The more
the merrier. Let’s make this a blowout event!

Since all the hard work of planning, contact making, and setting norms
has been done by Lee’s group – this may be something we (ADP) can pick up
in future election cycles.
