Mary Alice Conroy Award

for the Best Student Paper

in Forensic Psychology

*Winner will receive $500 award, commemorative plaque, and free TPA Convention Registration. S/he will present a summary of the paper at the Forensic Division meeting during the TPA Annual Conference in San Antonio at the Hyatt Regency from October 31 through November 2, 2019. Forensic Division Meeting Date and Time will be announced later.

The Forensic Division of TPA is proud to announce the

2019 Mary Alice Conroy Award for

Best Student Paper in Forensic Psychology

Eligibility:

The award will be presented to a Texas student who has demonstrated the highest level of excellence in a paper related to forensic psychology. Forensic psychology is defined as “the interface between law and psychology.” Completed papers and works in progress are welcomed. 30 page max.

The paper will be rated on the following criteria:

  *   Contribution to the field of forensic psychology
  *   High-quality research and analysis
  *   Creativity and originality
  *   Soundness of reasoning
  *   Clarity of presentation
  *   Organization
  *   Adherence to APA Formatting Guidelines

Background:

The award is named in Honor of Dr. Mary Alice Conroy, a professor at Sam Houston State University who trains students in forensic psychology. Dr. Conroy has been very active in the field and is a well-known expert in forensic psychology who testifies across the country.  She has been very generous in providing training programs and advocating for forensic psychology issues in the State of Texas.
