Congratulations to your new GSPO Executive Board! Everyone ran unopposed so there was no need to vote. I have attached everyone's blurb below.


President: Beata Krembuszewski​

"I am applying for president of GSPO because I would like to further serve the graduate psychology student and faculty community at SHSU. As the previous GSPO secretary, I was involved in the planning of all of our events and participated in our fundraiser each semester. I am an organized individual and I believe I have well-developed leadership characteristics which will be necessary to continue to engage our socially-distant student community in the coming months."



Vice President: Ema Kiser

"I am very interested in the vice president position through GSPO and after discussing the position with current and previous GSPO officers, I feel I am an excellent fit for this position and understand the roles involved.  Through my experience of being student representative, I have extensive experience in organizing events and meetings, contacting outside agencies regarding support and hosting, and coordinating communications between students, faculty, and others with the upmost preciseness and effectiveness.  Receiving this position will actively let me engage with my growing interest of coordinating programs and keep me involved with the student population of SHSU.  Overall, I believe I have the organization and communication skills necessary to be a successful vice president of GSPO."



Master's Vice President: Katherine A. Lewis

"I would like to run as Vice President for the Masters Program. I was in a sorority in undergrad, so I enjoy, and am familiar with planning events. I also think that I am a very personable person, and that the first year students would feel very comfortable reaching out to me with questions. I would like to be more involved with the program! "

Treasurer: Bailey Barnes​
"I believe that I would be a good fit for this position because I am highly reliable and particularly responsible when it comes to handling money. Additionally, I have experience with managing money in previous jobs (e.g., transporting/depositing business revenue, responsibly using company credit cards, developing budgets for clients in mental health care facilities). I would be grateful to receive this position because it would allow me to put my money management and organizational skills to use and provide me with the opportunity to serve our community. As the GSPO Treasurer, I would also be able to connect with other students in various psychology programs and further develop my leadership skills."



Secretary: Debbie Torres

"I am interested in and believe that I am a good fit for the position of Secretary. I have held similar positions in various undergraduate- and graduate-level organizations. For example, while in my master’s program, I held two Executive Officer positions that closely relate to the duties of GSPO’s Secretary position. I was the Student Membership Coordinator and Community Outreach Coordinator, which involved communicating with multiple stakeholders within and between the program. As a Research Study Coordinator (in graduate school and previous employment), I am well versed in maintaining meticulous and up-to-date records, as well as communicating pertinent information to others. I believe that the chance to become further involved in an organization that upholds and appreciates healthy collegiality, in conjunction with my previous experience, will enhance my professional and social development in the program."
