You’ve likely seen on that I’ve sent out an invitation for Dr. Johnson’s talk on clindoc.

Dr. Matthew Johnson is an Associate Professor of Psychology at John Jay College of Criminal Justice, City University of New York. He will be providing a special guest lecture wrongful conviction in rape cases on Monday, March 29 from 9:30-11:00AM over Zoom.
Matthew Barry Johnson, Ph.D. is the author of Wrongful Conviction in Sexual Assault: Stranger Rape, Acquaintance Rape, and Intra-Familial Child Sexual Assault, recently released by Oxford University Press. It is the first major academic study of wrongful conviction in rape.  The book reflects inter-disciplinary research drawing from psychology, legal studies, and historical analysis. The book highlights the role of criminal investigative errors, racial bias, and social/historical factors in sexual assault prosecutions.

Hello Diversity Committee,

Dr. Matthew Johnson from John Jay (https://www.jjay.cuny.edu/faculty/matthew-barry-johnson) has reached out to provide a guest lecture to our department.  He recently wrote a book examining aspects of black defendants and white victims in the criminal justice system, especially as it pertains to sexual assault cases.

His preferred dates to present are either Monday, March 22 or Wednesday, March 24 at noon. Before confirming with him, I wanted to check with you all to see if either or those dates and times will work. They conflict with some faculty meetings, so I may also see if he is available a bit later (1PM).
