<p class="MsoNormal">As a part of a Tier One Research University, the Department of Educational Psychology strives to provide students with the opportunity to present and learn about current research. <b>The Houston Symposium for Research in Education and
Psychology </b>broadly focuses on research in the areas of education, psychology, individual differences, health, higher education, social work, and cultural studies. The Houston Symposium for Research in Education and Psychology is a wonderful opportunity
for students to obtain constructive feedback regarding their research and to gain professional exposure to the valuable research being conducted by colleagues.</p>

<p class="MsoNormal">All students are encouraged to participate in this professional development event. Paper and poster abstract submissions may include, but are not limited to: ongoing independent research; candidacy, thesis, or dissertation projects; and
class-assignments. Final data and results are<span class="apple-converted-space"> </span><b>not</b><span class="apple-converted-space"> </span>required for submission. Thematic symposia submissions, including faculty discussants, are also strongly encouraged.</p>
