Greetings Sigma Tau Deltans:

Sigma Tau Delta Member Meeting!
Monday, February 21st, 2 p.m., Evans Building Faculty Lounge.

Well, I don't know about all of you, but this semester has been very busy
for me.  I just wanted to fill all of you in on the events we have held so
far and future events.

First, the 80s Meet and Greet was like totally awesome!  Look for pictures
to be posted soon on our website.  As a matter of fact, if you haven't
visited our website lately, you need to check it out.  W\e now have the
history and picture of the first executive board of the organization
posted on the site.

The Rose and Poem Sale did very well. We will be having another fundraiser
on March 2nd.  We will be selling used books, so if you have any books you
would like to donate, we will be collecting them until the day of the
sale.  You can drop off your donations in the Faculty Lounge in the Evans
Building.  Also, if you have some time to help us set up, run the sale,
and/or clean up, drop me a line to let me know.  We will hold the sale
from 10-3 in the LSC mall area.  We need help from 9:00/9:30 until
3:30/4:00.  If you can donate an hour or two, it would be greatly
appreciated.  The same members and officers have been carrying the burden
of these events for this semester and last, and I would really like to see
more Sigma Tau Deltans "Get Active."

Our newsletter will be available Monday in the Evans Building, 4th Floor
on the Sigma Tau Delta bulletin board located across from the English
office.  We will be putting out another one very soon, so if you have
anything you would like to contribute, let us know ASAP.

We now have an office in the Evans building, room 205!  As soon as we get
it set up, we will designate hours when it will be open.  Also,
information for meetings and upcoming events will be posted on the door.

If you have been given any recognitions, awards, or grants or
scholarships, or if you have published, presented, or anything else that
you are proud of,  send me the details.  We want to recognize our members
in our newsletter and at our banquet.  If you are graduating, let us know
(and be sure to come by and purchase your cord for the big day).

Right now, we are busy planning our Spring Banquet and Induction Ceremony.
 All the details will be forthcoming.   It will be held at the Elkins Lake
Country Club in May.   We really want to make this a special night for
every member and guest.  If you are interested in serving on the committee
to make this a memorable event, please attend Monday's meeting or contact
me.


Speaking of Monday's Member Meeting-- I hope to see you there.  Last week
our door prize was a desk calendar of Shakespearean insults.  I can't wait
to see what our vice-president is offering this week!
