Dr. Bell has extended the deadline for presenters at the April 21 Undergraduate Research Conference.  Any A paper you have done for an English class would make a wonderful presentation, and having a presentation is a huge plus in graduate school applications as well as job applications.

Dear Colleagues:

The Honors College Student Ambassadors are hosting the Fifth Annual Undergraduate Research Symposium on Saturday, April 21, 2012. Of the 105 students who have registered to present, only seven are from English and Linguistics. We have traditionally had a very strong English presence at the symposium, and I hope that we can continue this trend; therefore, I am e-mailing to see if any of you have students whose work is good enough to present at the conference.

Students can present their research in poster, oral, powerpoint, or video presentations. The presentations (except for posters) are limited to 15-20 minutes. The symposium's primary purpose is to give students the opportunity to present their work in a conference setting; it is understood that this is the first time for most of them, and so the atmosphere is professional but relaxed.

I am working on the program this weekend but can accept student applications to present through Thursday, April 5th. If you know of anyone who might be interested in presenting, please e-mail me; you can also just have the students e-mail me directly.
