[Sigtaudelt] Conference submissions

You may now submit a paper for presentation at the Sigma Tau Delta Convention, which will be in Savannah, Georgia, Feb. 26-March 1, 2014.  You must submit a complete essay or creative work, so look at work you've done in previous semesters.  Prose works (either critical or creative) need to be around 2,000 words long.  Poetry submissions should take about 8 minutes to read.  You may only submit ONE work.  Here is a list of categories a submission needs to fit:

  *   Critical Essay or Literary Analysis
     *   Anglo-Saxon and Medieval British Literature
     *   16th/17th Century British Literature
     *   Restoration and/or 18th Century British Literature
     *   Romanticism and/or Early 19th Century British Literature
     *   Victorian and/or Later 19th Century British Literature
     *   20th/21st Century British Literature
     *   Colonial American Literature
     *   19th Century American Literature
     *   20th/21st Century American Literature
     *   World Literature
     *   Popular Culture
     *   Critical Theory
     *   Film and Media Study
     *   Teaching English Language/Lit; Practices and Pedagogy
     *   Young Adult Literature
     *   Common Reader We the Animals
  *   Original Creative Works
     *   Original Drama/Screenplay
     *   Original Fiction
     *   Original Poetry
     *   Creative Nonfiction
     *   Common Reader Ex Libris (meanins an original creative work inspired by We the Animals)

The conference has as its theme this year "1924," which is the year Sigma Tau Delta began. If you have an essay that references that year, you may submit it under a special category.

Dr. Morphew and I will be glad to read your paper and provide feedback on it before you submit.  If your submission is accepted for presentation, the organization will cover your expenses.
