Dear Sigma Tau Delta Members,

Who would like to participate in this? I really enjoyed debate tournaments in junior high and high school, and I think this is a great way to reach out to younger people. These students do a lot of reading and research to prepare for these debates, and I believe this is right up our alley in promoting that kind of literacy and research. Looking forward hearing from all of you volunteers!!!!!!

Subject: Easy opportunity for lots of service/volunteer hours MARCH 5-6

Organization Presidents:

The SHSU Speech and Debate team would like to help your organization earn service hours in an easy and fun way.

We’re hosting a debate tournament March 5-7 and need students to volunteer to judge rounds on the 5th and the 6th.  No debate experience is required to judge, and the type of debate that will be going on is designed to appeal to everyday people.

We will also be providing food for all volunteers throughout the day.

Each round will take approximately 1 hour.  Here are the available times.  We need lots and lots of people to make this tournament, so please sign up for as many slots as you can.

Friday:

4:30pm, 5:45pm, 7:00pm, 8:15pm

Saturday:

8:15am,  9:30am,  11:00am, 12:15pm, 1:30pm, 2:45pm, 4:00pm, 5:15pm
